CRYPTO NEWS

This week’s whipsaw market movements test NFT traders’ resolve — What’s next?

NFT prices take a hit alongside the sharp correction in the crypto market and only time will tell whether the current downturn was a buying opportunity.

How to get events and decode them with http provider instead of web-sockets?

I used to listen to some token events with websockets similar like following example: // This filter could also be generated with the Contract or // Interface API. If address is not specified, any address // matches and if topics is not specified, any log matches filter = { address: "dai.tokens.ethers.eth", topics: [ utils.id("Transfer(address,address,uint256)") ]::Listen

I used to listen to some token events with websockets similar like following example:

// This filter could also be generated with the Contract or // Interface API. If address is not specified, any address // matches and if topics is not specified, any log matches filter = { address: "dai.tokens.ethers.eth", topics: [ utils.id("Transfer(address,address,uint256)") ] } provider.on(filter, (log, event) => { // Emitted whenever a DAI token transfer occurs })

this is from etheres docs https://docs.ethers.io/v5/api/providers/provider/#Provider–events .

How can i do this with http provider instead of websockets? Any specific github code examples would help a lot, as I am now thinking about polling or something. Is there any better way without websockets?
